Hi Sig, I read the message that you provided the link for. Seems that Dell had/has setup a very elaborate supply management system. So, given the nature of Dell's supply system, why did the company run into supply problems? I guess the system didn't work as well as Dell had hoped. In other words, the quake "swamped" Dell's supply management system.

Lets look at the Intel situation. Intel sure "screwed" Dell and the other box makers this past quarter. Gtw decided it was time to second source their processors, so they qualified Amd. MD says Dell will not use Amd chips. Why? If Intel screws up again, Dell is going to suffer, and so will the shareholders. What is going through MD's head?

On another point...why would MD take a shot at Msft? That is, his most recent comments about Linux vs. Windows. What is Dell trying to accomplish?

Sig, I'm not trying to knock a great company like Dell. I'm just trying to understand what Dell is doing and why. When a company has a problem, they should fix it. It seems to me that Dell is not going to change anything in order to remedy their existing problems. Am I missing something here?
