I understood that index funds are comprised mainly of HIPs and Tips on the tse. The adjustment will be made in the value of these two Equities..and the Index funds.
GLE shares held in a Canadian Equity fund or by us would not be affected unless (as we hope) they go up:)However the rise and fall of the index may affect GLE, Gle acts as its own stock and contributes to the value of the index, The index should not adversly affect by contributing to GLE's value.GLE stock traded doesn't have to move anywhere as I understand it. Incidently, TSE is getting rid of their index funds, It costs them $ to administer and they are trying to become profitable. Replacement index funds will be administered as I units by Barclays Global. Someone correct me quickly on this if I am wrong!!-Rampant
