Re: Is Intel about to humiliate AMD? Intel ... to show off ... a 1.3-gigahertz Coppermine processor..."

That's terrific! It will make it that much easier to get top dollar for the 600MHZ and slower processor that are all Intel has available capacity for right now.

Intel demoed a 1GHZ coppermine last year, and they're just now getting to volume at 800MHZ. So, does a 1.3GHZ demo now indicates Intel will be struggling to ship 1.1GHZ a year from now?

AMD demoed 900MHZ a few months ago at their conference call - and they're shipping volume 850 now - AMD demoed 1.1GHZ last week, I expect them to ship it in volume within a few months.

It's one thing to demo an early version of a real product, these mutant lab rats that Intel has been showing off don't mean much of anything to anyone. I suppose they help to salve the wounded pride of CB, but it makes the chips that Intel actually ships look like losers.

I guess it's a little humiliating to Intel that it feels forced to present such a demo - do they really have to show a Coppermine? Again? Is Willamette still in trouble?

No wait, let me guess, Willamette is fine, but the chipsets that support are screwed up - where have we seen that before?

Rambus to the rescue of AMD again?

I would have thought you all would have figured it out by now, but just in case: Rambus is actually a secret plot by Jerry Sanders to make Intel look stupid, and so far, it's working like a charm!

PS - nice job on the flame bait!
