Trying to buy foreign stocks over the weekend is a pain. The brokers who work on the weekends at the big houses like Fidelity and Schwab, etc. are not experienced and will often give you incorrect info. This has happened to me numerous times. Chances are you may be able to place your order over the weekend, but it not get filled until the U.S. market officially opens. If you place a market order, it will be filled quickly. If you place a limit order it may take a day or not get filled at all. Often times the quote you get on Mon am is different from the one you get from the weekend. Additionally, they will charge you a premium to buy this kind of stock and there are minimum lots required, probably 1,000 shares.
