Howard, I saw it on CNBC. It was the two guys from Dow Jones news. Walter Mossberg, technical writer from the WSJ reveiwed the pager on Thurs and thought it was great. The part that is missing from the reports is RIMM has wireless technology to connect devices to the internet. That technology is in the forefront of the next wave internet connectivity. RIMM technology transfers to laptops, desktops, and other hand held devices. Also undiscovered is the market for simple devices to be built into appliances, tv's, stereos, vcr's, and just about everything else electronic. These devices will be used to remind owners of updates, service needs, new products, etc. The warranty card you return after purchase will have a bar code to identify the device in your appliance. Someday Sears will send advertising to people that have old appliances that may need to be updated, they're gonna know how old your fridge is, what model, where you bought it. RIMM wireless technology is being evaluated by the largest PC company in the world. cdaisey@just-the-beginning.com |
