Sunday February 13, 1:05 am Eastern Time

BOMBAY, Feb 13 (Reuters) - India's private sector ICICI Bank has filed its registration statement with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its forthcoming $125 million American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) issue, the bank said in a statement late on Saturday.

``ICICI Bank has filed its form F-1 Registration statement under the Securities Act of 1933 with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on February 11, 2000. Upon completion of the offering, it will be the first bank from India to register its securities with the SEC,' the statement said.

India's Commerce and Industry Ministry cleared ICICI Bank's proposed ADR issue on Friday.

The bank will hold a general meeting of its shareholders to approve the proposed offering on February 21 and plans to list the additional equity shares following the ADR issue on the New York Stock Exchange, the statement said.
