Janice Utterly perverse rubbish. Go read the Constitution: it says that "the pursuit of happiness" is one of man's "inalienable rights", not his "highest purpose". Pernicious trashy demagoguery--pretty much what I expect of USA Today, the newspaper designed for people who can't follow a page jump. Why am I not surprised? I find your own "alternatives" rather perplexing. Why must one choose between, say, Thomas Edison and Franklin Roosevelt? Janice
