Because, if the deal was done for cash, instead of stock, then Microsoft gets paid a lot of money. Of course, the amount of money is immaterial to msft, but NOT to inprise/corl.

That is why I say that there is already a bigger fish involved. when msft gets rid of their shares, we will see that bigger fish.

the recent comments my m. dell clearly stated that linux was picking up steam...
