ten is kind of a magic number psychologically negative: a lot of profit takers like to act at 10,20,30,40,50 etc. positive: conservative margin departments like to see stocks stay stable above 10 for a while before putting on the marginable list. A lot of investors want buying power that it gives and funds other than microcaps funds start looking. patience is rewarded!
