Mark,

1. corl/inpr clean up all of the administrative and other overlap: human resources, excess office space and personnel, etc. to streamline the company.

I don't see anyone from BORL or CORL touting any great savings in this area.

2. msft sells out their inpr shares.

Why would they do this unless they believe the merged entity is overvalues? Who knows those perferred shares when converted might even be voting shares. I'll have to check. That would give MS more say then they had before.

3. orcl sun or ibm buy a new and improved streamlined company for cash, without having to pay msft anything.

Again, they could've had each of these companies if they wanted. The only reason to wait is that the combined entity will have a lower stock price. I don't buy this.

4. why not buy the separate pieces you ask? because a combined/streamlined corl/inpr will bring a higher price than if each were sold separately,i guess. i surmise.

I think you make my point here not yours.

what i do know is that if linux does indeed take off, as indicated my m. dell, then corl/inpr is going a lot higher.

Linux is taking off especially on the server. It's to bad no one on wallstreet trusts cowboy (from what I've seen, IMHO).

Do you think when MS get broken up into several companies, the surviving applications company won't go into this market with a vengence, assuming a desktop market develops?

Tom
