that's a good point, Kenneth, and it would favor what corvis SAYS they have, because they say their Gateway and Optical Router are intended to be operable with the SONET rings ('though i'd,ve thought a true optical router would make the sonet rings redundant).
it also makes the point that all of this may not happen as quickly as gilder and cohorts think - and maybe THAT'S what'll cause the drop we all fear - when all of us realize it'll be some time before all this experimentation and description turns into profits for our stocks. not inflation, not deflation, just impatience,
