A new CEO wo understands the software/games market can (perhaps) turn this around, provided he/she doesn't sacrifice the "Barbie business" that brought MAT to its current strong marketing position.

Yes, it'll be a tough row to hoe, so to speak <g>. I'm not tempted to sell at these levels, though.

MAT shouldn't have been caught flat-footed by the software biz, though. Some Barbie software was already in the top ten lists long before TLC. From the Mattel site:
Launched in 1996, with the best-selling Barbie Fashion Designer&#153 CD-ROM, the Mattel Media division of Mattel has grown into a $100 million business and established itself as a leader in the software industry. In 1998, Mattel Media earned the top spot on PC Data's best-selling children's entertainment software charts, in terms of dollar sales, with Barbie Photo Designer Digital Camera & CD-ROM.
