Are there any switching costs associated with blue LEDs? These simple devices only have 2 leads, which are labeled the goesinto and the goesoutof. They get hooked up to the + and - terminals of a 5 volt power source source, and the chip in between pumps out blue photons. If someone should come up with a cheaper blue LED chip to put in between the leads, the value chain could switch to it without skipping a beat.
