OT ed,

With all the stuff here on the thread about real estate, can I ask your opinion about a "fixer-upper"?

Tromped through the snow to find this place in Paoli. 7800 sq ft. 7 acres, 200 year old trees (saw a Birch with "blah-blah loves blah blah, 1893....."

Needs work. Am I out of my mind? Would have to rewire, replumb, yadda, yadda, yadda. Sort of reminds me of a Bavarian estate... first thing I ought to do is fence the yard and let the dogs run. Unfortunately, appears to require about 3000+ feet of fencing to do the yard. Wrought iron is just too darn expensive these days...

Figure it could be brought up to snuff for an additional $500-600K.

So, whadda you think? (Besides the fact that when I moved in, property values in the neighborhood would plummet...)

Mark
