Porter, thanks for the DETAILED info. I REALLY appreciate it. It looks like I may be out of luck because I complained to etrade on FRIDAY (2 days later) since I could not get a hold of their customer service till then (damn lines are busy for hours!). But DAVE S (thanks for your input as well), thinks I should complain. I know both of you trade options on the floor, so I really appreciate your inputs if I should give up or not.
What happened was I came back from lunch, and am pretty sure the BID was at 43.05 or so. I waited and waited and did not get a fill according to Canada Stockwatch live options. I changed the order to 45.00 (which must have cancelled the original) thinking that if a new order was to go in, a fill of the previous price would be triggered due to the bid actually being hit before the change, but this did not happen.
And that is where I am now.
As a side note, Porter you mentioned below:
"There are avenues of recourse available to the public, however, and if your broker did not advise you of your rights, I'm sorry. Canceling your order instead of claiming or even 'querying status' removed those rights, and you should have been so informed beforehand."
Is there a RULE/RIGHTS BOOK that I can use to get info on my rights on trading on the TSE, since the discount brokers seem to only give you what they feel like you need to know.
Thanks again for the help guys! I would be lost without your info! |
