Re: "It seems quite foolish for a person to claim facts which they do not have knowledge of. Not surprising, just foolish."

Just exactly what facts do you think I am claiming here?

Re: "Kevin, I see you carefully constructed your criteria to exclude all the 800MHz HP systems available all over the country. So much for honesty."

I've learned from you and Paul that announcements and demonstrations should be taken with a big grain of salt. The proof is in the pudding, and the pudding is (IMHO) processor availability on the open market. Remember when AMD was shipping .25u K6s from its Submicron Development Center in an act of desperation? Tier One manufacturers were shipping boxes based on these chips, but they weren't available on the grey market. When they did become available on the grey market, that was the signal that the crisis was over. And that's why the fact that HP is shipping 800 MHz PIII boxes is not necessarily meaningful at all. That, I'm afraid, is my HONEST opinion. I am neither an AMD nor an Intel investor at this point--I'm just calling it the way I see it.

Re: "You might end up looking as foolish as Kash did when he claimed CuMine couldn't possibly match Athlon in Integer performance and anyone who claimed so was a liar."

Do you have a post bookmarked where Kash claimed this? I'd like to see it. I know Scumbria has been saying for a long time now that there's little room for improvement on the integer side for x86 processors. I have been inclined to believe that.

IMHO over the past year it's been the Intel supporters on this thread who have shown the bulk of the foolishness. The most foolish among them are so embarrassed they no longer show their faces on SI. Here's a reminder of real foolishness:

"AMD has poor process development and manufacturing control ... 350mhz by AMD won't happen." -- Yousef

Makes me chuckle every time <GG>. Good thing your spec post are a little more subtle--they definitely qualify as foolish, but they're not so blatantly idiotic as good old Youseless was.
