About Strata - a division of c3d from www.3d.com
Strata Software is based in St. George, Utah in the stunning red rock country near Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon. We have been developing and publishing leading-edge 3D and DV tools since 1988. We began back then with a vision of serving creative professionals and have earned a reputation for bringing powerful, yet easy-to-use applications to the desktop.
The major reason we are in this business is the satisfaction we get from sparking the digital creative community and its wonderfully gifted individuals. We have always meant it when we say our central mission is "powering the creative environment." In fact, we mean it so much we've trademarked that phrase. The Strata tool line - StudioPro, VideoShop, MediaPaint - is used by digital artists, animators, web authors, multimedia developers, and other creative professionals around the world.
Strata tools have been used for major feature films such as "Wild Wild West", "Deep Blue Sea", "The Fifth Element," and "Batman Forever," as well as for hit computer games such as MYST(tm), television shows like the MTV Movie Awards, the David Letterman Show, and Xena, and the websites of Warner Brothers, Blockbuster Video, and NBC.
In April of 1999, Strata Software became a division of C3D Digital Inc., a publicly-held company headquartered in the Los Angeles metro area and a leading innovator in 3D entertainment technology. C3D Digital has established the C3D Television Network as the world's first television network with stereoscopic 3D programming and operates 3D.COM, its own Internet subsidiary company.
3D.COM and Strata Software are co-located and are working closely together to integrate a new generation of Strata tools with the web portal being constructed by 3D.COM. This new generation of Strata applications will be "web-enabled", tying directly into the rich resources soon to be available on www.3d.com. In addition, we are incorporating exciting new features for the Strata line such as stereoscopic rendering and the ability to create interactive 3D web objects. |
