However, as the track record of a lot of SI/Coms investors has shown, at least up to this point in time, that strategy hasn't worked too well when trading Coms.

You missed my point which was that even stocks that yo-yo, without really going up over all, can have their day. Look at the 10-year COMS chart. Pretty impressive. The fact is three years really isn't very long in terms of a stock investment. Granted, I'm glad I wasn't in 3Com during the "terrible" years but I am one who sees a turn-around in the making. Yes, most of the share-price increase seen recently is probably due to PALM but I believe this is also disguising a turn-around with COMS. If so, those who sell too soon will leave a lot of money on the table. Time will tell.
