MDU Communications Signs Distribution Agreement with ADT Canada
RICHMOND, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2000-- Sheldon Nelson, Chairman and CEO, reports that MDU Communications International, Inc. (OTCBB:MDTV - news; ''MDTV'' or the ''Company'') has signed a distribution agreement with ADT Security Services Canada, Inc. (ADT). This agreement allows MDTV to join the dealer network of ADT, which is Canada's leading electronic and ULC rated security monitoring company.
As an authorized dealer for ADT Security Services Canada, Inc., MDTV is now positioned to provide high quality, fully ULC rated monitored home security services to the estimated 2.7 million Canadian residents living in multiple dwelling unit buildings such as condominiums, gated communities and apartments. The market is under-serviced with increasing security concerns amongst those living in multiple unit residences.
MDTV is moving forward with the expansion of its offering of bundled telecommunications products by adding in-suite security monitoring services. MDTV currently offers digital satellite television services, high speed broadband Internet services, and with the ADT agreement, now delivers a third product offering to its growing subscriber base.
Currently, MDTV supplies each of its properties with a front door security camera system that allows subscribers to view the buildings front door and lobby area by accessing the camera signal through the digital set top receiver MDTV installs in the customer's suite. Providing additional in-suite ADT security monitoring service to the residents of these properties further positions MDTV as the preferred telecommunications supplier within the property.

MDTV will be paid an initial up-front commission and a continuing residual revenue stream by ADT for each resident that subscribes to the ADT service.

MDTV will continue to position itself through agreements such as these, as a bundled provider of telecom media services to North American multiple dwelling unit properties.''
