I have some expertise in electro-optics, and quite a bit in investing. I am not familiar with this particular earth shaking technology, but it is easy to recognize BS when you see it.

The best technology may not often be a successful product. You need a successful execution as well. Often a successful execution will lead to a successful product which was not original or the best, fastest, whatever. Ciena held no proprietary rights to DWDM. But they surely executed well. Watch the developments closely, and act accordingly. Filter out the BS.
