This technology, which will be exibited at Cebit, allows worldwide integration of language and data applications over all types of networks. Siemens claims that enterpises will gradually convert their communications (?) to IP technology. The system anticipates open industry standards and permits customers to employ new applications or to further develop existing infrastructure. Siemens wants to grow faster than the market in info and communications networks. Maher anticipates growth in excess of 10% per year for this business which should reach 600 million DM by 2004. In the previous year the restructured information and communications business of Siemens which employs 60000 resulted in annual sales of 24 billion DM, and in R and D expenditures of 4 billion DM.
