chalu, pure speculation on your part. In the face of adversities, many times before in our history, the coming together of individual citizens has risen to the task of defending our democracy. As a result of FDR's administrations, and subsequent governmental controls, we have very little democracy left. The only saving grace, so far, is that as bad as it is, it is still hanging on by a thread of being the best system in a far from perfect world. The only thing that brought us out the depression, was the mobilization for WW2. His domestic programs were not working. Actually, I have seen a historical report that a great many of his programs were initiated by Hoover, and were defeated by a large democratic majority in the congress but, the programs wouldn't have worked for Hoover either. ~H~ |
