QS - There was a development going on in parallel with the base Win2K work - it was called the "consumer shell" and was an attempt to support typical consumer applications. I played around with it at one point - it ran about 1 in 5 of the games I tried. The effort was dropped because there was just too much stuff that would not run under the constraints of the NT base... they have a LONG way to go to make this a consumer OS. They may have to wait until more of the programs in common use depend on newer technology. Most of the games assume they "own" the machine. I have had no trouble with USB support, I don't know why someone would say that - one of the machines I use with Win2K is entirely USB including the keyboard, mouse and printer... somebody is smoking something on that one.
