Cabletron to establish four independent operating companies

FEB 14, 2000, M2 Communications - Cabletron Systems, a provider of networking
products and services, has decided to establish four independent operating
companies as part of a project to realign Cabletron's operations and
organisational structure.

The four companies - Riverstone Networks, Enterasys Networks, Global Network
Technology Services and Aprisma Management Technologies - will focus on the key
high-growth areas in the communications marketplace - service provider,
enterprise e-business, professional services and infrastructure management.
Initially they will all be Cabletron's subsidiaries, but it hopes eventually to
spin them out to shareholders as four separate publicly traded companies.
