George, i know...i recently followed George Ure's lead and bought the same puts he's holding. they're extreme bets though...if they don't work out, i'll simply repeat the exercise at a later date. the margin debt issue is very serious imo...it virtually assures that the next big break will result in a rout. unless of course i am mistaken with regards to the publics ability to expand margin debt even further. note though that a 20 billion dollar increase in margin debt during January has not helped the market one bit...add to that the 21 billion in funds inflows and you're looking at a cool 40 billion bucks having been unable to move the market. in other words, there must be a lot of sneaky selling going on. now if the public indulges in ever higher margin, who do you think is doing the selling?
