Paul, <Eight leading system vendors today showed prototype servers and workstations based on Intel Corp.'s forthcoming Itanium(TM) processor at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF).> Dang, that's a huge show of support for "unproven" technology that is going to show less than stellar performance! When will people learn? IA-64 is just a flash in the pan, a curiosity, a flop! People are obviously going to choose [UltraSparc/Alpha/Sledgehammer] over IA-64 for the enterprise anyday! Tenchusatsu EDIT: I try to refrain from making posts like this, but it's hard for me not to get all enthusiastic over IA-64's potential and eventual impact in the marketplace.
