China's Huatong Market starts silver trading Monday
Hong Kong--Feb 14--China's Huatong Market started silver trading Monday, but
hasn't made a public announcement of the start because it has so far not
received the official document for the new value-added tax (VAT) or that on
regulations for domestic silver trading from the State Economic and Trading
Commission (SETC), a company official told Bridge News Monday . (Story .11228)

China sets 17% VAT on silver, 13% tax rebate on silver exports
Hong Kong--Feb 14--China has set a new 17% value-added tax on silver and a
tax rebate of 13% on silver exports, while continuing to allow silver to be
exported duty-free, officials of the General Administration of Customs (GAC) and
the State General Administration of Taxation (SGAT) said Monday. The absence of
an ex
port tariff and the 13% tax rebate on silver exports are seen part of the
government's efforts to cut domestic stocks, industry sources in China said.
