Integrated Research Forms Marketing Relationship with SCO SYDNEY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2000--
--ISVs and Customers to Benefit from Unparalleled Manageability
of UnixWare 7 NonStop(R) Clusters and e-Business
Critical Servers with PROGNOSIS(R)--
Integrated Research Pty Ltd (IR) today announced the formation of a marketing relationship that will promote PROGNOSIS UNIX, the most comprehensive systems management solution for UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters to the SCO customer base (Nasdaq:SCOC).
PROGNOSIS UNIX 7.04 is scheduled for general release in the first quarter, 2000, having generated widespread industry interest at SCO Forum1999 last August. PROGNOSIS UNIX is the first systems management solution designed specifically for Single System Image (SSI) clusters from SCO. It is also the only fault tolerant manageability product of its kind, allowing for management of the smallest SCO servers to the largest clustered systems.
Simplifying UNIX systems management
PROGNOSIS simplifies single and multiple processor and clustered systems management by allowing users to manage at the SSI cluster, server, processor or process (application) level. Through its intuitive graphical user interface, PROGNOSIS provides real-time problem alerting and can generate electronic pager or email messages to on-site or off-site personnel.
PROGNOSIS has automated facilities for storage, consolidation and review of historical data and automatic trend extrapolation for capacity planning and budgeting. With availability management, automated, iterative problem analysis and resolution, and a developer's toolkit for custom application monitoring, PROGNOSIS is the ideal solution for managing complex systems and e-Business environments.
SCO will work with IR with marketing activities for the promotion of PROGNOSIS to its ISVs, customers and world-wide partners, through a range of marketing and promotional campaigns. This also provides Integrated Research with access to specialized technical and marketing teams within SCO. The two companies will continue to work closely as PROGNOSIS UNIX evolves.
"This strong marketing relationship is terrific news for SCO partners and customers," said Tamar Newberger, director, Server Product Marketing, SCO. "PROGNOSIS is one of the new breed of applications designed for UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters and we're excited to see a lot of interest from the ISV community. PROGNOSIS makes proactive cluster-level management a snap, allowing customers to find and fix issues before they become problems."
"We are extremely pleased to work with SCO in the mission critical server and NonStop Clusters arena," said Steve Killelea, CEO and President of Integrated Research. "This is an important marketing relationship for Integrated Research and we look forward to a successful working relationship with SCO."
The PROGNOSIS family of integrated products now offers true cross-platform capabilities across Compaq (NYSE:CPQ) NonStop(R) (Tandem(TM)), UNIX and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows NT(R) environments. With its extraordinary depth and breadth of functionality, PROGNOSIS allows users to seamlessly manage everything from applications, databases, workstations, networks and servers. It also leverages Internet technologies to deliver business intelligence, service level agreement monitoring, and allows management of a systems environment from any Java-enabled web browser.
