Following probably explains todays uptick. A few more would be nice. Metrowerks Unveils Development Tools, Support Pacts >MTWKF Dow Jones News Service ~ April 28, 1997 ~ 8:46 am EST AUSTIN, Texas (Dow Jones)--Metrowerks Inc. (MTWKF) unveiled new application development tools and said it entered development support agreements with Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) and NEC Corp. (NIPNY). In a press release Monday, Metrowerks said CodeWarrior for PalmPilot Developer Release 2 is hosted on Windows 95, Windows NT and Mac OS. The application is available for a suggested retail price of $369, the company said. Metrowerks said CodeWarrior for PalmPilot features CodeWarrior Integrated Development Environment and allows software developers to build applications for the new PalmPilot Professional and PalmPilot Personal Connected Organizers from U.S. Robotics. The company said it agreed to offer support for Microsoft's Windows CE within its CodeWarrior line of products. Initial CodeWarrior support for Window CE will target NEC VR Series of embedded microprocessors. In Metrowerks' agreement with NEC Corp., Metrowerks also will add support for Windows CE to its CodeWarrior for NEC Embedded Systems. CodeWarrior for NEC Embedded Systems will be available for a suggested retail price of $699. Metrowerks said it intends to deliver Windows CE support by year end. Metrowerks also will offer CodeWarrior for Windows CE as a separate product dedicated to Windows CE. CodeWarrior for Windows CE price has not yet been determined.
