Lew & Dan and Osceola Haqi I see Christianity's problems encapsulated in the chief problem, that of taking the simplicity that is in the New Testament and scrambling it up with God's dealings with the Jews of the Old Testament. Many get on me for making statements like this. Their standard comment is "God never changes." I agree, God does not change in His Holy Triune person or purpose for mankind. But, He does have major dispensational changes from Abraham the man to Abraham the Jew. Then The Jewish dispensation or Covenant for several thousand years of works doctrines to Christianity and the Covenant of Grace.

What God permitted or demanded in one dispensation He did not permit or demand in another. Example; Poligamy is permitted. Today it is surely a deep sin to sleep with more than one woman unless you live by the Old Testament like the Mormans.

God also had the Jews doing some major killing of those outside the Jewish faith but He says turn the other cheek to us today.

Basically, can we agree that the main points of Christianity is saved by faith alone through grace and to live daily depending on the Spirit of God to give us love for our neighbor? Or will we cause discension by saying you got to tithe or faith alone will not save. Or do you go to Church? If you don't do this or that you will be least in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Lew, I posted to you because you seem to be one of the few that have not been tainted by religiosity and sanctimony over your fellow Christians.

I am not perfect, thank God. But where have we ever got any blessing or understanding from others on these so called Christian threads?
