Hello rir,

Welcome to the thread ... I'm glad to see new perspectives joining us! I'm not sure what in your first paragraph was "contrary" to my opinion ... you'd have to elaborate. I agree with all three statements that you make ... including the one about Microsoft and their battles! ;-)

I agree completely about IBM! I know a number of people who work for IBM and are very happy with the internal operations and their ability to innovate. It's not the old IBM ... although it still has it's experience and a lot of patents ... ;-)

So I'm curious, how does IBM operate in these types of partnerships? I'm trying to look at it and determine what will drive revenue for NOVL and it's shareholders?

I've been reading more and learning a lot about WebSphere, but I'm trying to determine what will be the driving forces to sell WebSphere on NetWare over WebSphere on their own high-end (high-priced) workstations? Any other perspectives?

I *do* understand the ICS/BorderManager partnership with IBM and see how that will start to generate direct revenue ... I can't wait to see the quarter results this week to see how well ICS is going ...
