Paul, <PC shipments in Asia up 35 percent in 1999>

Wasn't John Hull saying something to this effect, that growth in Asia was contributing to the increase in demand?

<PC shipments in Korea grew by 79.2 percent>

I certainly like this quote. I was in Korea back in September 1998, and I remember seeing Intel ads on Korean TV. I don't remember seeing any AMD or Cyrix computers there, but then again, I didn't really look that hard.

I've got to wonder whether broadband in Korea will take off much more quickly than in America. Most everyone lives in apartments or condos in Korea, so I'm sure broadband will be quickly installed in most apartment buildings as the economic situation continues to improve. Heck, if digital cell phone infrastructure took off like a rocket in Korea (1 out of 3 people in Korea have cell phones, it seems), I'm sure broadband can sweep across the country as well.
