Perhaps it's time to give up that hopeless fantasy that Intel will continue screwing up forever. Athlon will not be selling against a capacity constrained competitor much longer. If Intel shows a 1GHz CuMine processor this week built on their production process you might start thinking about your long term strategy with AMD. I will be holding on because I think this will take time to play out. As PB said, Intel can still play the price card. They can respond to AMD's price war by matching AMD's prices. ASPs could take a nosedive. More to come soon I'm sure.

EP, give up on Intel's screw ups......I don't thiiiink so. Just today the VP for Desktop tried to convince a crowd at IDF that a set of ZD benchmarks showed that the Celeron had twice the performance of the PIII/800!!!

The worst part is he gave a $20 bill to the ZD journalist who pointed out the error. That's the VP for Desktops not knowing the difference between the Celeron and cumine.

Don't you think that you should be concerned? If that's representative of Intel's upper mgmt, you might want to consider lightening your Intel load.

And btw, EP, everyone knows that the IDF is an Intel dog and pony show...and that Intel is good at snowing everyone.
Well, at least they were, until today when VP Gilsenger came along.
