The main car computer people are Clarion. They will know something that could lead you to GMGC. I spoke to the autoPC platform guy from Microsoft and he said they still had things with GMGC in the works.

Most of the people in the trenches though didn't seem to remember GMGC. I can see reason to keep it a secret. They had a big show presentation last year with GMGC, Microsoft and Clarion.

Seems like maybe the Delphi people are competing with OnStar? Delphi had a WAP computer in a Saab. They demoed a view of the German Auto Bahn showing what would be live video of the proposed trip route. Europe is aboout 12 months ahead of the US in installing WAP products, but that gaps is probably narrowing fast.

If you do get the Onstar people ask them how they can sell things to their customers. Will they keep an account and act as a go between in the money exchange, or will they leave that between customers.

Perhaps ask Onstar the same questions we've been asking, "Why does a guy with a cell phone need a car phone when they can get all the Portico services already?"

Ask them why they don't use a WAP system? Or if this will turn into a WAP system? What will their onboard device be, a phone or a computer?

What sort of content do they invision.

How can they complete a secure link. Can they get finally bridge the security gap that will allow corporate customers to do the really serious interfaces to their enterprise?

Just curious why they don't target commercial truck drivers. Seems like they would really need this service and they could justify the cost.

That'll keep you busy. Hope you have fun. I found the systems couldn't handle the noise of a show, so it'll be interesting to see how the demo's go for you. They weren't very impressive as trained people had to keep repeating commands to get through simple instructions.

Regards,

Mark
