MB. Another troubling statistic.
I saw this on the news the other night.
In 1950 the average 14 year old had a vocabulary of 25,000 words. That supposedly dropped to 10,000 in 1999.
(And I wonder if the average kid can spell any of those?) <g>
As for punctuation and grammar, it appears the chat rooms are decimating the language. I'd swear the e-mail I get from my grand kids was typed by Bill F. <VBG>
