Com21's DOXport 101 Cable Modem Achieves
Level 2 Approval from Excite@Home

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2000--Com21, Inc., (Nasdaq: CMTO - news), a leading supplier of
system solutions for the broadband access market, today announced that Excite@Home(TM) (Nasdaq: ATHM - news)
has granted Level 2 approval to Com21's DOXport(TM) 101 cable modem. The approval allows Com21 to begin
large-scale field deployment among Excite@Home affiliates with the company's DOCSIS cable modem solution.


The Excite@Home Level 2 approval confirms the successful integration and interoperability of the Com21 DOXport 101
cable modem within the Excite@Home DOCSIS network environment.

The DOXport 101 is fully compliant with the 1.0 North American Data Over Cable Services Interface Specification
(DOCSIS) standard, and is one of two Com21 DOXport models to receive CableLabs® Certified(TM) Status. The
DOXport 1010 first achieved Level 2 approval in July 1999.
