Socket Names John Adams, Jr. Vice President of Worldwide Sales

NEWARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2000--Socket
Communications, Inc. (OTCBB: SCKT and SCKTW; Pacific Stock Exchange:
SOK) today announced the appointment of John Adams, Jr. as Vice
President of Worldwide Sales. The newly created executive position
consolidates management of the worldwide selling activities of the
Company and will strengthen the Company's ability to handle
anticipated sales growth. Adams brings to Socket over 22 years of
international and domestic sales experience in selling network
communications products, most recently serving as Vice President and
General Manager of the Asia-Pacific and Latin America Business Unit of
Network Equipment Technologies (N.E.T.). Adams was responsible for
growing the Unit's revenues from $8 million to $53 million over four
years.
"John has broad experience in selling network and data
communications products," said Socket's Chief Operating Officer Kevin
Mills. "He has a unique combination of technical skills, sales and
general management experience and market savvy, and has a recognized
track record in creating and managing growth. He has demonstrated the
ability to build major customer relationships and manage high-growth
organizations in new markets. These skills will be important to the
success of Socket's newest products including its Digital Phone Cards,
and to the introduction and success of Socket's Bluetooth connection
products for Windows-based mobile computers expected to be introduced
in the second half of this year."
