Hey, I'm glad I stumbled onto this thread (well OK I didn't stumble so much as I searched for it). I feel that Internet networking and security will be my career path. I have just finished the classroom portion of my E-Commerce / Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) program, and I am still studying to write a few exams before I actually receive my certification. I've done some packet analysis and some pretty cool stuff in the classroom. My next project is to take my old 486DX2/66 and get familiar with FreeBSD (Unix), last week I finally got it on CD-ROM and installed it via FTP across the LAN. I have a dial-up PPP connection so my plan is to use that box to set up and then share out the connection to my other networked computers through network address translation (natd). I also plan on implementing a packet filter (bpf) with extensive logging enabled. Ahh, where would man be without some sort of projects? I look forward to hanging out here with y'all.
