Schlumberger Demonstrates Smart Card-Based Information Security Technology at Windows 2000 Conference

Showcases "Plug & Play" Capabilities and Wide Range of Applications on
Windows 2000 and Windows NT(R) Platforms
Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB), the world's leading provider of smart card-based solutions, will conduct a series of demonstrations at the Windows 2000 Expo that showcase a wide range of applications and the "plug & play" interoperability of its smart card-based technology with Windows 2000 and Windows NT platforms. Demonstrations will take place at Schlumberger booth No. 640, March 15 through 17 at San Francisco's Mosconi Center.
Focusing on the ease-of-use and high level of security offered by a its Cryptoflex(TM) smart cards, Schlumberger will demonstrate a wide variety of information security applications, such as secure email encryption, single sign-on, virtual private network (VPN) access, password vault and desktop encryption. Highlighted at the Schlumberger booth will be the new Cryptoflex Windows Powered Smart Card (WPSC), the first smart card to provide all the built-in security functions of Windows 2000 without requiring installation of additional middleware.

Cryptoflex smart cards and Reflex(TM) readers will be featured in all demonstrations at the Schlumberger booth:
-- Win2000 Server Demo - Management of user profiles, downloading of
certificates, administration of user rights, enrollment of users, VPN connections and email encryption will be demonstrated on a
Win2000 server.
-- Win2000 Workstation Demo - Demonstration of single sign-on, email
encryption and signature capability, encryption of files and data
on the computer desktop, and the establishment of a VPN with a
Cyroptoflex smart card will be showcased on a Win2000
workstation.
-- NT4 Workstation Demo - A NT4 workstation will be used to show how
the Cryptoflex smart card works on platforms other than Windows
2000. Demonstrations on this machine will include the Cryptoflex
Security Kit 3.0, smart card log-on, email encryption and
signature capability, desktop encryption and password vault. |
