Using that thought, I look at it this way.
Remember Thou shall not murder? (Matthew 5:21)
Look at what Jesus says from there. (MAtt. 5:22)
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Would you see that as a higher calling or lower calling?
How about adultry? (MAtthew 5:27)
But Jesus says this. (MAtthew 5:28)
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Higher calling or lower calling?
How about MAtt. 5:31-32 concerning divorce? Higher or lower calling?
IMO these are all HIGHER callings. I believe Jesus calls us to higher things. Therefore in so much as someone mentioned tithes in an earlier post....The LAW says to give a "tithe". Now after all these higher callings, do you suppose that Jesus calls us to the same or even lower giving? IMO, giving is just as much a part of worship as the Lord's Supper, singing praise, etc etc., and we should give as we have ben prospered. Paul says this: (2Cor. 9:6-8)
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
SO I am saying to me, everything is to a higher calling, because God gave us His best, in Jesus.
