RM - What is BH? As it happens I don't think that Mr G wants to destroy the market or any part of it. I don't think he understands some of the tech issues ( who really does?)and he has said that he doesn't understand the new dynamics of productivity gains. That being said it IS his job to worry about what might happen if there WERE to be a big pull back in stock prices and what he call 'imbalances' in the economy and things like the level of margin debt. Margin debt is as much a worry to most LTB&H investors as it is to Mr G. It is currently a very big number and it has leverage up and down except that my guess is that it would be much more of a destrucitve influence on the way down than it was a constructive one on the way up. There is also an election this year and I don't suppose that he wants to do anything too nasty that would screw up anyones election chances. So he's basically IMHO just a nice old guy who takes great pride in his job and who has been lucky enough to be the Chairman of the Fed at this very intresting time and all the financial world has confidence in him and he therefore adds to stability.
