CSPI, the 2 biggest customers are relatively low profile german telcom companies. There was some decent insider buying in Aug 1999 (60K shares by director Shelton)

the price to book and price to sales are pretty low.

I question what will keep the competition with deeper pockets and more strategic partnerships from coming into this market.

the insider buying is best defense of this concern. I would need to understand the technology better to increase by comfort level.

they are small cap... 45 million.

BUSINESS SUMMARY
CSPI designs, manufactures & markets multiprocessing
systems for real-time applications; sells Internet software
solutions, real-time process control systems; and develops
and markets hardware and software. For the 3 months ended
11/30/99, revenues rose 37% to $15.7M. Net loss totaled
$330K vs. an income of $475K. Revenues reflect an increase
in outsourcing sales by MODCOMP. Net loss reflects an
increase in cost of sales due to a change in product mix.

CSP knows computer signal processing. The company's CSPI MultiComputer Division makes systems that process signals from military sonar and radar, medical imaging, seismic data, and package sorting systems. It also makes industrial bar code readers. CSP's Scanalytics subsidiary makes image analysis software for biotech research customers. Subsidiary MODCOMP provides systems integration services and sells computers (RealStar) and software (ViewMax, which integrates older mainframe-based computer systems with intranets and the Internet). Systems integration and other services account for two-thirds of CSP's sales. Major customers include German telecom companies VIAG (16% of sales) and ARCOR (15%).
