This article certainly explains why Jim would not want to take ANOTHER polygraph. Even if he passed one administered by the police as they are asking him to do, they are not going to "eliminate" him from "the suspect pool!"

Yep.

One huge problem is that the local Connecticut press are gutless. Think about it. First the New Haven police immediately leak someone's name to the press and then they spend the next 15 months in total secrecy and not one reporter questions them about it. The next time (if ever) the police hold a press conference I plan to be there. ;^)
