From that March 11, 1999 Press Release: . . . FirstStates to serve the entire East Coast with plans to strategically open loan-production-centers in the Midwest and on the West Coast within the next two and a half years. Now that was nearly a year ago. Only another year and a half left? So won't they have to actually file to become a thrift before they open any strategically placed loan production centers? Does that mean they may yet file that application before September 2001? Or do you suppose they were inflating their plans a bit? (BTW, still no application filed with the OTS. I wonder what's keeping them?)
