IOB (Indian Overseas Bank) forays into E-com.

CHENNAI: Indian Overseas Bank plans to enter into E-commerce and has appointed a consultant to develop a comprehensive e-commerce strategy, which will benefit its customers in the years to come. E-commerce covers a wide range of services ranging from routine payments such as telephone bills, electricity bills and insurance premia to payments to vendors for goods supplied or services rendered. This concept will enable individual and institutional customers to conduct their business at low cost, through electronic media from their place of work or residence at any time of the day, according to a release.
