Received from Schwab a news alert about @Ventures investment in SpotLife. Sounds like iCast. What do y'all think?

From Business Wire 2/15/00

"Spotlife, an Internet company formed to explore new directions in Internet-based personal communication, has created a way to enable mainstream consumers to broadcast and share live personal video content over the Internet ... as previously announced under code name 'The Rubicon Project'. Investors in addition to @Ventures include Logitech, and Atlas Venture.

"Spotlife is on a mission to revolutionize personal broadcasting the way Kodak revolutionized photography .... To accomplish this, we built a Web site where everyday people can showcase their creativity, talent and interests.... Amit Goswamy, SpotLife President and CEO said "we will become the personal broadcasting destination service of choice for users of digital video capture devices connected to the Internet ....

Again, sounds like a lot of overlap with iCast digital stuff. Although I think iCast has an audio component which was not mentioned in the Business Wire article. It is getting hard for me to fit the pieces together and I am just wondering if there is a conflict here.

Comments?

Thanks
Marshall
