Actually, all Intel did was say they would include Rambus slots TOGETHER with the new industry standard DDR ram slots.

6 months ago, intel swore up and down the street that they would only put Rambus slots on their mboards and chipsets.

But then VIA came in and started making chipsets that support the ram that all the major asian manufacturers are selling for 1/4th the price of rambus ram, and intel knew if they stuck to rambus only then nobody would buy their chipsets.

This is just a mother of all short squeezes. Interestingly, some puts i bought this morning actually INCREASED in value by about 20 percent even though the stock closed higher than the point at which i bought the puts. In other words, everyone knows it is a short squeeze that will end, pretty soon.
