If we are talking betting here, then you are advocating always backing the favorite. Might as well just pay a percentage to the bookies and keep the rest of your money in your pocket.

Alternatively you can use some knowledge of form to pick yourself a promising outsider, comfortable in the knowledge that the odds will be lengthened further by those punters blindly backing the favorite again.
