Agreed Neo, though I think the element of defense should also be a part of the equation.

When I look upon the field I see Republicans and Democrats struggling to moving the ball "forward," the Democrats struggling to run into the end zone, the Republicans struggling toward the fifty yard line (being willing to give up ten or twenty yards here or there to the Dems).

Problem is, both teams run perpetually in the direction of the Democrat's end zone. It is now so horrific that we spectators automatically take our seats on the left end of the field because we know that is where the action will always be.

I hardly think McCain or Bush have what it takes to lead the GOP to the right end of the field. It is as if these men, occasionally looking toward the unused GOP end zone, wonder to themselves "Why do they build the field so large?"
