cleto, No idea how fast Promatory can sign up CLECs. But I can safely say that this announcement is super news for NHC. It authenticates NHC's vccs. Think of this: - Nortel is the current leader in optical networks providing high speed voice and data transmission - Nortel buys Promatory for its DSL technology. DSL technology converts normal copper telephone connections to allow for high-speed transmission to homes and offices (competing against cable) - The only problem is that telcos have to access CLECs and ILECs offices and vice versa (a lot of lengthy delays, frustration and manpower costs). - The missing link is NHC's vccs DSL market is exploding. Telcos are in a mad rush to offer DSL to avoid market share loss to the cable companies. With NHC's swx you can not only test but also remotely manage changes to the network. The operating companies need NHL's vccs now, badly ! In my opinion, today's announcement is the most significant announcement that NHC has made. Enjoy the coming ride. Regards, Lalit Jain
